Traveler Insights: Many travelers appreciate the ease of access provided by MARTA trains, especially for reaching key destinations like downtown Atlanta and Buckhead. Reviews often highlight the punctuality and cleanliness of the trains. However, it's recommended to avoid peak hours if you're carrying large luggage, as the trains can become quite crowded. Some users have also noted that while the trains are generally reliable, delays can occur, particularly on the southbound route. Additionally, certain stations are better maintained than others, so it's advised to stay alert and be mindful of your surroundings.

Traveler Feedback: The MARTA bus service receives mixed reviews. While it is a cost-effective option, some users have expressed frustration over long wait times, particularly for Bus 191. The ongoing issue of driver shortages has exacerbated this problem, leading to delays and occasional cancellations. On the positive side, passengers appreciate the convenience of the route and the free transfers within the MARTA system, which can make traveling across Atlanta more manageable. For those relying on Bus 191, it’s recommended to check the schedule ahead of time and be prepared for possible delays.

Fare

All tickets on the MARTA system (trains and buses) must be purchased with a Breeze Card, which costs USD2.00 and can be recharged for up to 3 years.

The standard fare is USD2.50, with four free transfers allowed within a three-hour period (not valid for round trips).

Passes
MARTA passes may be the cheapest option if you plan to travel several times in one day or over the course of a predetermined number of days. These passes provide unlimited travel for one consecutive day, beginning with the first day of use, ending at 0:00 am.

- 1 Day: USD9.00
- 2 Days: USD14.00
- 3 Days: USD16.00
- 4 Days: USD19.00
- 7 Days: USD23.75
- 10 Days: USD25.00
- 20 Days: USD42.50
- 30 Days: USD95.00

Traveler Tips: Many users recommend purchasing a MARTA pass if you plan on exploring the city over several days. It not only saves money but also the hassle of constantly reloading your Breeze Card. Additionally, the free transfers within a three-hour window are particularly useful for visitors trying to see multiple sites in a short period. However, some travelers noted that Breeze Card machines can occasionally malfunction, so it's a good idea to purchase your pass in advance if possible.
